BCThubs at the ArcheoCamp 2024 Conference

On October 28, 2024, BCThubs participated at the ArcheoCamp 2024 held at the historic Villa Doria D’Angri in Naples, Italy. The event brought together experts and enthusiasts from the fields of underwater cultural heritage and blue culture technologies.

BCThubs, represented by DAN Europe Foundation, delivered a compelling presentation outlining the project’s goals and the innovative technologies being developed under Work Package 2. The team also took the opportunity to promote the upcoming 1st International Conference in Volos, slated for December 2024.

The presentation covered the broad spectrum of BCThubs’ activities, from technological innovations to ecosystem building, all aimed at supporting sustainable growth in coastal economies through the advancement of Blue Culture Technologies (BCT). Key technologies such as robotic platforms for acoustic-optical surveys and advanced methodologies for geomorphological surveys were highlighted, showcasing the project’s contribution to the preservation and accessibility of underwater cultural heritage (UCH).

In addition to the formal presentation, BCThubs engaged with participants through various dissemination activities. These included detailed discussions on the potential of blue culture technologies and the project’s strategic approach to overcoming market fragmentation and legislative barriers. 

BCThubs’ participation in ArcheoCamp 2024 effectively highlighted the critical role of Blue Culture Technologies in enhancing the sustainable management and accessibility of underwater cultural heritage. Additionally, it contributed to raising awareness and understanding of the project, thereby attracting further support.
