BCThubs was present at the European Maritime Day (EMD), which took place from May 21st to 23rd, 2025, in Cork, Ireland. The event was organized by the European Commission, in collaboration with the Cork City Council and the Irish Department of Environment, Climate and Communications. EMD is the annual three-day event during which Europe’s maritime community meets to network, discuss, and forge joint action on maritime affairs and the sustainable blue economy.
The BCThubs project was represented by ATLANTIS Consulting at stand 53, contributing to the dynamic and collaborative environment of EMD 2025. The event brought together around 1,285 stakeholders, offering a platform where “Ocean Leaders Meet.” Participants engaged in plenary sessions, thematic workshops, and interactive exhibitions, all highlighting the significance of maritime sectors and sea-related activities in Europe.
EMD 2025 served as a unique opportunity to pay tribute to “maritime Europe”, shedding light on the diversity and outreach of blue economy initiatives, and provoking reflection on the crucial role our seas play in everyday life. The event targeted professionals from businesses, government bodies, public institutions, NGOs, and academia, as well as EU citizens with a passion for maritime topics.
This year’s edition also featured the third annual Fisheries and Ocean Dialogue, hosted by the Blue Forum, further enriching the agenda with insights into marine policy and collaborative governance.
