THE BCTHubs project is proud to announce the launch of the Ocean Literacy Online Training Course, hosted on the e-learning platform of our project partner DAN (Divers Alert Network).
Launched as a celebration of World Oceans Day, this programme offers a comprehensive learning experience through four specialized modules: Climate Change, Underwater Archaeology, Citizen Science, and Plastic in the Sea. The course has been officially endorsed by IOC-UNESCO and is designed to increase awareness and understanding of the ocean’s role in sustaining life on Earth. It supports the vision of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (Ocean Decade 2021–2030), which recognizes ocean literacy as essential for achieving global sustainability goals.
Within the BCThubs project, the Underwater Archaeology course was developed in partnership with DAN (Divers Alert Network) and the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage (SCH). It is designed for both divers and non-divers, aiming to educate participants about ocean science, marine conservation, sustainability, and heritage protection.
The Ocean Literacy Online Training Course offers flexible participation:
- Self-paced online learning – complete the modules anytime, at your own convenience.
- Instructor-led sessions – optional dry workshops and practical applications for hands-on experience.

- Browse the Programme Catalog to view the courses available from your instructor.
- Select your preferred course:
- Click directly on the programme name, or
