BCThubs Connecting Mission – 2nd Meeting

On 25 September 2025, the BCThubs Connecting Mission Meeting was successfully held online, bringing together partners and stakeholders from across Europe. The session focused on strengthening collaboration, showcasing partners’ activities, and outlining the next steps of the project.

One of the key highlights was the introduction of the BCThubs eLearning Platform. Fabio Figurella (DAN EU) presented the online platform, which is designed to enhance knowledge-for both divers and non-divers, aiming to educate participants about ocean science, marine conservation, sustainability, and heritage protection.

The meeting also featured updates on the upcoming training-focused session led by a representative from the Bulgarian Hub. The session on Surface Supplied Diver Training will take place on 19–21 November 2025 in Sozopol, Bulgaria. This initiative highlights the importance of advanced diver safety practices and ongoing training activities within the hubs’ knowledge network.

Another highlight was the Public Vote for the Public Service Sustainability Award, which emphasizes the value of sustainable practices and the recognition of impactful contributions to local communities. The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage (SCH) has been shortlisted for Malta’s Sustainable Development Action Awards. These awards honor individuals, NGOs, businesses, academic teams, and public institutions that lead in sustainable innovation and practices, contributing to economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The deadline for public voting was 28 September 2025, and the successful entities will be announced on 10 October 2025.

In addition, Atlantis Consulting announced the upcoming AMU International Conference on “New Challenges for Underwater Nature and Cultural Heritage Tourism during the Ocean Decade.” This international event will provide an excellent platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange.

The 2nd meeting once again united stakeholders to exchange ideas, updates, and news relevant not only to the project but also to their broader activities. It served as a platform to enhance synergies, share opinions, and strengthen promotional efforts. Partners are encouraged to present similar activities from their organizations, which can be further promoted through BCThubs’ social media channels, ensuring wider visibility and impact.
